The work of the Museum of Appalachia requires the dedicated labor of many people, both paid and volunteer.  As a volunteer, you can make a valuable and tangible contribution to the Museum's mission.

Our opportunities for volunteering cover a wide range of activities.  Volunteers might work with visitors or student groups; they might do data entry or paint signs.  From daily tasks to special exhibition openings, volunteers serve on a weekly, monthly, or as-needed basis.

Depending upon your education and interest, you may be involved in working behind the scenes with a project, with mailing, or with general office work  You may be asked to do archival work or to assist in the Museum's conservation program.   Or you might help with planning or staging one of our several special events.  Training is provided for all our volunteers.  Volunteers are unpaid and must be able to provide their own transportation.  If you are interested in being part of the Museum of Appalachia's exciting mission, you can download an application in either .pdf or word document form.  Simply print it out and mail it to the address noted on the form.  Come join us!

If you need to download the Reader, you may get it from the Adobe website by clicking on the following button:
