Experience the serenity of an Appalachian Christmas during our Candlelight Christmas Tour.
December 2nd & 3rd from 5pm-8pm, we invite you to tour selected cabins in the Museum village by candlelight, enjoy Christmas storytelling, drink hot apple cider, sing carols in the Irwin Chapel, visit with Museum animals, and make Appalachian ornaments. We'll also have a live Nativity scene (featuring animals from Little Ponderosa Zoo*), musicians performing throughout the grounds, as well as spinning & weaving demonstrations, candle-dipping, cooking demonstrations, blacksmithing, sassafras tea-making, and lots of holiday craft activities for kids! The Museum Restaurant will also be open, and will be serving soups & sandwiches.
Be sure to bring a flashlight!

Family Rate (2 adults and children under 18) - $25
Museum Members - FREE!
Also, The Shop at the Museum of Appalachia will be having an Open House all-day on Saturday, December 3. Enjoy storewide sales, take photos with Santa on the Museum grounds (provided by the amazing LHS Photography), delight in cooking demonstrations, book signings, and more.
*Little Ponderosa Zoo will only be on-site for Friday's event.
