Pinch Pot Workshops

Traditional Pinch Pot Workshops with Isabel Wells of Gateway Ceramics

Saturday, September 26 | 11am-12:30pm

Saturday, October 10 | 11am-12:30pm

Join us for a hands-on pottery workshop and learn how to make a pinch pot using one the oldest pottery techniques in the world.

Learn about the history of hand-built pottery and explore a few decorative styles inspired by traditional Appalachian folk pottery before you create a piece (or two!) of your own. After shaping your pot, you’ll have time to decorate it with carved designs of painted details.

Your finished piece will be taken off-site to be kiln fired and will be ready for pickup two to three weeks after the event. No experience is necessary. All materials are provided and beginners are welcome.
